The challenge: translating complexity into ease of use /
Perfecta faced a familiar challenge within the sector. The extensive range of configuration options, from fabrics and colors to bases and dimensions, had to be presented in an intuitive and visually appealing way. At the same time, the aim was to digitally strengthen furniture stores, both large chains and smaller independent stores, even if they did not have their own webshop. On top of that, there was the ambition to minimize the distance between inspiration, configuration, and actual purchase, without losing sight of local production in Belgium, an important USP. Innovations such as Augmented Reality had to offer clear added value, without creating additional complexity for the manufacturer or the furniture trade.
One integrated digital ecosystem /
We developed a fully integrated digital platform that seamlessly connects manufacturers, furniture retailers, and end customers. The system was set up as a single logical entity in which configuration, experience, sales, and production are perfectly aligned.
A high-performance configurator for B2B and B2C /
On Perfecta's website, we created a high-performance 3D configurator in which all possible combinations can be tested in real time. Fabrics, textures, colors, and bases are displayed realistically, allowing both furniture stores and end customers to intuitively put together their ideal furniture. The configurator is the beating heart of the platform and is fully scalable for future collections and expansions.
Augmented Reality as a decision accelerator /
With the integrated AR functionality, customers can place their configured furniture in their own living space in true scale. This allows them to experience materials, colors, and volumes in a realistic context, which removes doubts and increases confidence in the purchase. Augmented Reality was deliberately used as a conversion-enhancing tool and forms an essential part of the overall customer experience.
Micro webshops that strengthen the furniture trade /
For furniture stores without their own e-commerce platform, we developed fully-fledged micro webshops, tailored to the look and feel of each individual store. These shops offer the same extensive configuration options and are linked to the furniture store's own Mollie payment account. Payments go directly to the retailer, while orders are automatically and correctly sent to the furniture manufacturer for production. In this way, we strengthen the position of local retailers without creating additional administrative or technical barriers.
Smart flow between producer and point of sale /
End customers who configure on the furniture manufacturer's website can easily select a furniture store in their neighborhood or choose a store with an active webshop. Their configuration is then forwarded one-to-one to the selected micro webshop, fully preconfigured and immediately ready to order and pay. This smart flow ensures maximum conversion with minimal friction in the purchasing process.
Digital campaigns that support the entire chain /
The platform was supported by targeted digital campaigns via Google Ads and Meta. Using a combination of search, display, carousel, and video campaigns, we highlighted both the configuration options and the AR experience. Traffic was strategically divided between the furniture manufacturer's website (for inspiration and configuration) and the furniture stores' micro webshops, where conversion and sales take place. This allows every link in the chain to benefit as much as possible.
Complete peace of mind from production to pixel /
Communicatiehuis took care of the entire technical process. From optimizing production and CAD files to converting and refining textures and materials for web and AR. We provided high-performance visualizations, a scalable viewer, and future-proof technical architecture. This allows Perfecta to focus entirely on what it does best: high-quality, local production in Belgium.
The result: one scalable model with impact /
The end result is a single central configuration ecosystem that serves both B2B and B2C, digitally strengthens the dealer network, and significantly shortens the path from inspiration to purchase. Thanks to AR, engagement and conversion are increasing, while the platform remains easily scalable for other collections.
Relevant to your business?
This case study shows how manufacturing companies with configurable products can digitally expand their sales network and serve end customers directly, without bypassing their existing partners. By combining configuration, augmented reality, and online payment in a single logical and high-performance platform, we translate complexity into a clear digital story from factory to end customer.
